Developed by Yasmeen Lar, Barefoot Social Architecture is one of the principles used in the projects. Dr Yasmeen Lari and Afroza Bhamani met with volunteers from the Denso Hall Rahguzar walking street event at PSO House . The purpose of the meeting was to discuss how to take forward the initiative launched at Denso Hall Rahguzar event earlier in the month. Various proposals were discussed. It was decided that Karachi Public Schools will be rehabilitated and green spaces will be introduced as part of community mobilization to transform Karachi into a humanistic eco-city.

Independence Day was celebrated with much gusto and excitement at Pono Village in Sindh. Boys and girls from the village gathered in the open space with Pakistani flags and colorful balloons in their hands. There was also a tree plantation drive to mark the occasion.

Dr Yasmeen Lari, CEO of the Heritage Foundation of Pakistan held a street tea get-together with Karachiites from all walks of life at Denso Hall Rahguzar walking street. Rahguzar is a model eco-enclave in the congested city. The objective was to call Karachiites to take ownership of and transform Karachi into a humanistic eco-city. Dr Yasmeen Lari made an impassioned call for active participation in the city and launched the concept of Meri Gali Mera Sheher, a community mobilization to develop ownership of the city.
