The Green Karavan Ghar initiative has been extended to the province of Sindh. Construction of 55 units is underway in the village of Darya Khan Shaikh, District Khairpur. The first 25 houses are being constructed in collaboration with Architecture with Humanity. A week long training workshop was organized for students, local artisans and civil society organizations to understand and implement the green construction technique of working with mud, stone, lime and bamboo.
Participants came from Hyderabad, Karachi, Khairpur, Lahore, Mardan, Mansera and Swat and worked together to not only construct Green KaravanGhar Units but also to bridge barriers between different parts of the country.
